Kansas City Hot Spots

So, as a connoisseur of fine blues and barbecue, I recommend using City Search (www.kansascity.citysearch.com) to get the best non-biased reviews on restaurants.
Having said that, you can email me and I'll give you my two cents, any day!

Here are my Top 3 Barbecue Joints:
#1. Oklahoma Joes (The original one in the gas station, http://www.oklahomajoesbbq.com/
Get the "Hog Heaven" sandwich, and aptly dubbed "crack fries")
Also great ribs!

#2. Arthur Bryant's Original, http://www.arthurbryantsbbq.com/
(The ribs are like BUTTER! The chicken is also outstanding! Get a pitcher of locally brewed Pale Ale from Boulevard Brewery.)

#3. RJ's Bob-Be-Que Shack, RJ's Bob Be Que Shack "Bob's Favorite" with sliced smoked sausage, the casing is not a problem this way, delicious Brisket Soup and Breakfast on Weekends. They cater, and Bob is so nice!

Here are my Top 3 Blues Joints:
#1. Bb's Lawnside BBQ, http://bbslawnsidebbq.com/
(Wed-Sun live blues, all-blues jukebox, lunch specials, friendly atmosphere, Cold BEER!)

#2. Knucklehead's Saloon, http://knuckleheadskc.com/
(Get your tix early for large regional bands, always local bands, usually a free jam on Sundays, right now it's Levee Town every Sunday at 2pm! Levee Town)

#3. Blaney's Basement, in Westport: http://www.blayneys.com/
(Odd little joint, make sure to visit the basement, the upstairs is not as fun!)
